Num Ansom or Ansom Cake

Num Ansom a kind of Khmer traditional cake. Cambodia people, mostly make this cake in some big events like Khmer New Year and Phcum Ben day.

Num Ansom, which is covered by banana leaves and boiled well before consumption, consist of two kind: Ansom Chrouk and Ansom Chek. Ansom Chrouk (pig cake) is mainly made out of pork, sticky rice, peeled mung bean and pepper, while Ansom Chek consist of ripe banana and other ingredients used in Anksom Chrouk, excerpt the pork and pepper. Num Ansom is one of the most popular traditional cakes Cambodians make during traditional ceremonies or festivals, particularly on Phchum Ben (Festival of the dead) and Khmer New Year.

Num Banh Chuk or Khmer Noodle

Talking about noodle people might think of china because Chinese noodle is a popular food over the world. But now it is time for our Khmer noodle or (Num Banh Chuk). "Num" in English means cake and "Banh Chuk" in English means feed. This is just how I translate the words. Usually in English called it Khmer noodle cause it was made by Khmer and it might be found in Cambodia only.

Khmer noodle is made by rice and it taste well with cuisine. Only noodle is not enough to eat khmer noodle You have to prepare many kinds of ingredients and mostly are vegetables. This is good for your health and you have to cook the cuisine for this noodle is depend on your favorite cause there are two different cuisine for Khmer noodle. They are broher and another one is Cary. In countryside Khmer noodle is a popular food. People mostly cook it for the events like parties and Khmer ceremonies like Khmer new year, or phumben day etc. In city you can find Khmer noodle everywhere cause there are many sellers carry a pot of cuisine with noodle to sell and you also can find it in the market. Maybe you can learn how to cook it yourself. It is a healthy food, delicious and cheap.
